Hello. My name is Ania Halls and I am a BABCP Accredited CBT Therapist and EMDR Practitioner in York. With over 12 years of NHS experience, I offer confidential therapy for individuals experiencing depression and anxiety disorders, based on the latest research in the field.
My professional yet comfortable private practice is located in Holgate in York, with parking and easy access by car and public transport. I am located near the ring road which lends itself well to those travelling from other areas of Yorkshire including Leeds, Wetherby, Hull and Selby.
I am a fully accredited Psychotherapist registered with the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy (BABCP). I am also a fully trainer EMDR practitioner. I hold a BSc in Psychology, an MSc in Psychological Approaches to Health and a Post Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and a certificate in EMDR level 3. Please feel free to check my accreditation status by visiting the BABCP website and clicking on ‘find a CBT Therapist’ link.
I completed my core Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy training at the Institute of Psychiatry, Kings College in London, and had the privilege of working and being supervised by world renowned psychologists and CBT therapists at the Centre for Anxiety Disorders and Trauma (CADAT) in London.
After completing my training I worked for the NHS as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist in Leeds, London and York. Through my NHS work I accumulated over 1,000 clinical hours of treatment. I have also contributed towards the continuous development of other CBT therapists by providing over 500 hours of clinical supervision to experienced therapists, trainees as well as trainee Clinical Psychologists.
In my final years at the NHS, I worked as a Clinical Lead/ Line Manger / Senior Psychotherapist for two large NHS psychology services. More recently I decided to step away from management roles and to concentrate fully on my clinical work through my private practice.
In addition to therapy, I also offer clinical supervision.
